Setting and location

A world of adventure

Beautiful Northumberland countryside

In the heart of the country, and close to home

You will find us in the beautiful village of Whalton.

Our neighbours are Whalton Church of England Aided Primary School, with whom we share a spacious playing field and yard.

We are just a 10-minute drive from both Morpeth and Ponteland, where most of our children go on to continue their academic journey at a choice of senior schools.

But not all of our families are local. Parents have chosen to come to PAWS from as far afield as Bedlington and Druridge Bay. The scenic commute to Whalton must be worth the drive!

Why not take drive out yourself and see what we have to offer.

Fantastic indoor space

Our fantastic indoor space is full of opportunities to explore and learn. We are constantly adapting our layout to stimulate the imagination and feed curious minds.

Our role play area is one day a farm shop selling delicious local produce, the next a doctors surgery treating injuries and ailments. The children add storylines to their play and explore different occupations, cultures and ways of life.

There are plenty of craft, construction and mark making materials to encourage budding young artists, engineers and authors. Our pop up theatre performances always go down a storm. And we love to blast some tunes on our dance floor and boogie on down with disco lights flashing.

Breathtaking outdoors

Outdoors we have breathtaking views, big open spaces and lots of nature to explore.

We have a mud kitchen, sandpit, and a den, for all sorts of sensory play and discovery. In our raised bed we can grow our own veg and learn where our food comes from.

Our outdoor classroom includes bird feeders, nests and bug hotels and we keep an eye on little visitors with our binoculars.

Over our transparent walkway we view the little stream underneath, keeping an eye out for frogs, insects and interesting plant life.  Then a gate leads on to a huge playing field which we share with Whalton Primary School.

Here we climb trees, build dens, search for animal tracks and generally run wild and free!

We are also able to use the school yard which has a fantastic trim trail and climbing frame.
