So all our children flourish

Every child who joins us brings something to PAWS. Our children teach us as much as we teach them. Together we all learn and grow stronger.

At PAWS, all children are supported to reach their full potential and we tailor our activities for each child, every day. Inclusion is a thread running through all our activities. We want to create an environment where all our children flourish and all contributions are valued.

We promote mutual respect and tolerance, appreciation and respect for all people and cultures – teaching children to treat others as they would wish to be treated.

All of us have a right to positive self-image, autonomy and independence. First of all we listen. And then we actively promote these things. We want our children to be strong and resilient.

Kristina, our manager, is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). She holds the NCFE CACHE Level 3 award Special Educational Needs Coordinator in Early Years Settings qualification. She makes sure the whole team are equipped to meet the needs of every child by working together with parents and other agencies.

We do our very best to make our physical environment suitable for all children, and adjustments are made to resources and access to support each child. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum, with differentiation as appropriate.

We want all children to be able to access PAWS, to be treated with respect and valued as an individual.

Northumberland local offer

Northumberland has a wide range of groups, organisations and professionals providing SEND support.

Our own door is always open, so please do get in touch if you have any questions. We have trained staff who can help and signpost to additional services.
